Former National Basketball Association (NBA) star Charles Barkley is urging the Democratic Party to “shut the f-ck” up following President-elect Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential election landslide.

During a recent podcast episode of “The Steam Room,” Barkley wished Trump success in his second administration, criticized the Democratic Party for its 2024 presidential election strategy, and encouraged Democrats to stop making excuses for the election loss.

“I want to congratulate President-elect Trump,” Barkley said. “Y’all won fair and square. I want to congratulate you. I want you to do the best for the American people.”

The former NBA star explained that whether people voted for Trump or for Vice President Kamala Harris, they are “all Americans.” He also explained that he wishes “nothing but the best” for Trump as he serves the American people as president over the next four years.

Addressing the Democratic Party’s backlash against Trump following his 2024 election win, Barkley said, “I just want to say this to the Democrats, which I’m an independent who voted Democratic, do me this favor: Shut the f-ck up! When you win, you get to say what you want to. When you lose, you need to shut the hell up.”

Barkley pushed back against Democrats making excuses for the 2024 election loss by saying things like, “Oh, President Biden, they didn’t get him out of the race soon enough,” or “Kamala didn’t do this.”

“We lost because we had no game plan,” Barkley stated. “We still haven’t solved the immigration problem, have no viable answers, never addressed inflation.”

The former NBA star also criticized the Democratic Party for using “stupid stars” to encourage voters to support Harris in the 2024 election. He argued that having Hollywood and pop stars endorse political candidates would never persuade him to vote a certain way.

“Hey, I love Beyonce. What is bringing her out? That ain’t gonna make me vote a certain way,” Barkley said. “Cardi B. I like Cardi B; that ain’t gonna make me vote a certain type of way.” The NBA legend added, “You guys lost because y’all stupid. Come up with solutions.”

During the recent podcast episode, Barkley also distanced himself from many Democrats who have labeled Trump supporters as “racist.” He explained that he does not believe everyone who voted for Trump “is racist” and said that while he is “not a fan of the guy,” he is going to “respect the office” of the president.
